Interesting Facts
Data Issues for Spain
There are issues with the data reported by Spain. The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) report a number, and the World Meter report a different one. Data irregularities have been reported by the World Meter (e.g. reductions of cases/deaths) which might cause these differences.
It turns out that Spain does not count on the total number of cases reported to the European Commission, people who tests positive to SARS-CoV-2 antibodies if they do not show symptoms of COVID-19. Most other countries do count these cases, if a person shows antibodies it means the virus is present in their system, regardless of showing symptoms or not. This is what causes the different for Spain (little over 44,000 cases).
The Comparative Analysis reports use the ECDC data, while the other reports use the World Meter data. All other countries do not have any data discrepancies (except for reporting timing differences).
