We had our 1st singing class this morning, and our Dance Therapy Group was well represented there. We had Sue & Cole, Lyn, Carolyn & Peter and I ; we made up almost half the total number of students !!
The class was GREAT! Ona (instructor) is an Opera singer with lots of experience and knowledge, we learned posture, breathing techniques, projection of the voice, and we even had a go at singing a tune. WOW! We'll learn lots from this class, strongly recommended. Today I learned I am a Baritone, not an Alto (Alto applies to female or boy's voices only). We'll give a full update on Monday 5:30pm @ the Annex
[Sue, Cole, Lyn, Carolyn and Peter: please add anything from today I have missed]
Also, I am working with the committee organising the festival formerly known as Shoalhaven River Festival (there will be a new name this year). The festival will be held on Saturday 23rd October. The organisers of the festival where we danced were so happy with our performance that they want us to perform again this year; and I am responsible for the area that used to be called “Arts Precinct” where we danced last time, so we can certainly do something very special.
I think this year it will not be called “Arts Precinct”, I think it will be called “Culture Club” but please keep it to yourselves until confirmed. Also, this year all activities there (e.g. our dancing) have to be interactive with the audience. So we need to work out choreographies to perform where we can engage the audience, probably teach them elements of the choreography and have them dance it together with us. I will share more with the team on Monday.
See you Monday 10th May @ the Annex from 5:30pm for “Singing for Life” and from 6pm for “Dance Therapy” guys !!!
Have a great week and weekend.
