UPDATE on Annex situation

Posted on June 1, 2021June 1, 2021 By Dance Therapy Group 2 Comments on UPDATE on Annex situation
Hello All,

As discussed yesterday, the council has engaged a contractor to do upgrades to the Annex. Work is to run for a few weeks, and we will not have access to the Annex from Monday 7th June (Mon next week) to Monday 5th July (5 weeks). The first Monday we could be back in the Annex will be on Monday 12th July.

I contacted the council last night and told them that to move our Monday 6-8pm bookings from the Annex to the North Nowra Community Centre from 6:30-8:30pm is not workable as it's too late. I asked them to try the Bomaderry Community Centre as a 2nd option at the same times we have currently. I just got a call from the council and they'll contact the Bomaderry Centre now to see if it could work for us.

I checked about the CWA hall mentioned by Lyn. The council does not run their hall, it is totally operated by the CWA group. However, I think I misunderstood Lyn and the hall she must have referred to is the hall next to the CWA, that is the Shoalhaven Seniors Centre. The council confirmed they own that hall, but it is leased permanently to the Seniors Centre Association. However, the council will contact the Seniors Centre Association to find out if it'd be possible for us to use that hall for the next 5 weeks.

So, we might have 2 options. If the council is able to get us the Bomaderry Community Hall, they prefer that hall as it is owned and operated by the council. If not, the Seniors Centre will be explored and if available we could go there. If none of these are available to us, we might have a problem … let's cross that bridge when we have to.
More info later today.
Thanks,
Raul
