Hello All:
We had a great night once again, and we managed to do it all at the new hall !! We had 11 attendees: Clare, Kate, Lia, Margarita, Sharon. Stephanie & Duncan, Sue & Cole and Michael & Raul.
We started singing a few minutes after 6pm, and did “Stand By Me”, “Bye Bye Love”, Hello Dolly” and “Imagine”. We even recorded our performance of “Bye Bye Love” (thanks Sharon!) and we did not sound that bad !!! Thanks for our newly appointed singing lead and director Sue, I am sure we will continue to improve every week (thanks Sue!).
Then at around 6:45pm we started the dancing part of the night, and were able to dance 5 choreographies too: La Bicicleta, Jerusalema, Valle Pogonishte, You Should be Dancing, and Waka Waka. Well done everyone !!!
A great suggestion from Kate was to get the lyrics and music sheet for Jerusalema, for the singing team to try to learn to sing it together. So, I have attached the lyrics and music sheet to this email (also put it in the website). Let's practice at home, and try it together next week guys !!!
We talked about the Shoalhaven River Festival, and after my chat with Michael earlier today we will delay our departure for our holiday to Western Australia until Sunday 24th Oct; so that we can be there for the river festival with the group. We will probably dance Jerusalema and La Bicicleta, but instead of the Chacarera perhaps Waka Waka as we could reuse the African clothing! We have much to plan, and to rehearse to get ready for the show !!! The festival will be on Saturday 23rd October 10am to 10pm at the Mavromattes Reserve in Nowra.
See you next week (Mon 28th June) 6pm to 6:30pm for the singing part of the day, and 6:30pm to 7:30pm for the dancing. Have a great week and weekend !!
