Patricia Blanco and I have relaunched SUAVE Production to run our party again; but this time we are working as part of a larger team with many representatives from the Shoalhaven to help organise a number of local events to celebrate HARMONY WEEK (Tue 15th Mar – Mon 21st Mar). We have been working for a few months with representatives from Bay and Basin Amnesty International, Shoalcoast Community Legal Centre, Shoalhaven City Council, and the Shoalhaven Neighborhood Services.
The Shoalhaven HARMONY WEEK will include many events from Sat 12th Mar to Sun 27th Mar; including film festivals, workshops and presentations at the libraries, decorations around town, and this year our 5th LATIN DANCE PARTY !!!
Our party is scheduled for Saturday 26th March from 6pm at the ST GEORGES BASIN COMMUNITY CENTRE (21 Meriton St, St Georges Basin). We are pleased to announce that JUAN TORRES will be performing at the event. Juan is a former member of LATIN POWER who was a feature of a few of our previous parties. Juan has an amazing voice, and he will be delighting us singing songs from all over Latinamerica, and this time he will also include some additional multinational tunes in the spirit of HARMONY WEEK.
The event is sponsored by us and our partner groups who are organising the HARMONY WEEK events, so tickets will only be $5 per person (children 12 and under are FREE) ; and we are very proud because all proceeds will be donated to the REFUGEE COUNCIL OF AUSTRALIA !!!
