Hello All:
We had 13 dancers tonight !! We had Alison, Bev, Clare, Helen, James, Jill, Larrisa & Lisa, Michael, Peg, Sue, Suzi and Raul.
It was Larrisa’s first session with the group as a guest, and Lisa did not dance but came along to support Larrisa. Hopefully Larrisa will return to dance with us in future weeks!
It was Jill’s second dance session, and she joined he group now. Welcome to the team Jill!
We danced a few choreographies to start: LA BICICLETA (Zumba) and SHIVERS (Line Dance) and then dived into CINE ARE NOROC ARE (Romanian) with Peg teaching us, and we managed to danced it a couple of times to the music which was wonderful! it’s a great choreography. Thanks Peg!
Then, we danced MEN IN BLACK (Line Dance), and dived into CALM DOWN (Hip Hop). The great news is that we learned the first 3 x 8-beat steps, which is half the choreography, and we danced them to the song at 80% speed many times. Well done guys! Next week, let’s try to the second 3 x 8-beat steps and we’ll have it done. Cannot wait!
After that, we dance DANCING ON WATER (Jewish) and then WAKA WAKA (Afropop). Well done guys! Great night again!
Before we left, Clare suggested a new DISCO choreography to dance together. The song is titled MANIAC from the film FLASHDANCE, and the choreography Clare recommended is from JUSTIN NETO as published in Instagram:
However, he does not have the full choreography there. I looked everywhere and I could not find it anywhere. If anyone has access to his full choreography, please let me know. In the meantime, I found another two choreographies to the same song we could consider:

We still have to complete teaching CALM DOWN (Hip Hop), SESERE EEYE (Torres Strait dance) and CINE ARE NOROC ARE (Romanian); but perhaps we could plan to do MANIAC after if that’s ok with the group. Let’s chat about it next week.
