   Hello Dance Therapy Friends:We had our 1st session of 2026 tonight, and it was a great way to start the new year! Well done everyone !!!We were 22 dancers: Ali, Bev, Clancy and Dan with Banjo & Wren, Jayne, Jenny C., Jenny W., Josie and Josh with Zanthi, Max, Michael, Pam, Peg, Sue, Suzi, Telissa, Yuyu, Tina, and Raul. Tonight was Jenny W.'s first dance with us, and she told me she enjoyed it and will return next week, that'd be great!

   We started with a little celebration, we had 2 birthdays (Laura and Tina) and one farewell (Bev), so we got tea and cake to get us going !!! Then we danced, and we danced a lot! We managed to dance 14 choreographies tonight: CALM DOWN, CINE ARE NOROC ARE, COCEK, COTTON EYE JOE, LA BICICLETA, LOVELY HULA HANDS, MANIAC, MEN IN BLACK, PATA-PATA, SHIVERS, THE PIRATE DANCE, WAKA-WAKA, YOU SHOULD BE DANCING, and ZORBA. Just a reminder that if anyone want to learn or refresh dancing skills, songs and dance tutorials can be found online and here are the links:Songs: https://arregui.net/dance-therapy-songs-for-choreographies/Tutorials-website: https://arregui.net/dance-therapy-the-dances-clips-to-show-steps-and-styles-by-duncan-marshall/

If you have a choreography you'd like to teach the group, please send the name, song (mp3) and tutorial video (or dance video) to our mailing list ([email protected]) no later than by the end of Friday 16th January. I will summarise the entries received and we will give the group until Monday 19th January to review them and think about it. Then, we will vote and decide what new choreographies we want to work on together during next Monday's dance session.  Finally, just another huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Laura (today) and Tina (tomorrow); and a THE BEST OF LUCKS to Bev (moving up to Sydney).  See you next week for our 2nd dance of 2026, still at the Nowra School of Arts big building. Just in case, our code to open the building is 919265# (the code only works Mondays from 4:45pm onwards).Hugs,Raul Arregui[email protected] or [email protected]0418 273 504

Hi Raul Thanks again for the lovely welcome to the group, I had a fabulous time and plan to make it a regular thing!  Unfortunately I’ve got an appointment at 5.30pm next Monday 19 Jan that just can’t be moved so I will have to miss that session with you guys.  Do you run on public holidays?  The following one is Monday 26 Jan which is a public holiday.
